Full report on Aggregation models now available

USEF’s Aggregator Workstream has been running for over a year now and its in-depth analysis has resulted in a final set of defined models for the effective implementation of Aggregators, in both the Commerce & Industrial and the Residential domains. Addressing the Residential segment separately was considered crucial as it differs distinctly from C&I in that:

  • Residential Prosumers offer less flexibility per asset and so a larger pool of Prosumers is required to achieve minimum flexibility product sizes
  • The flexibility Prosumers offer is predominantly load-shift (EV, heat pump) with low marginal costs of activation
  • Residential markets are more regulated.

All additional implementation models and recommendations are now included in a final report which will be submitted to the EG3 workgroup and has just been released through our website. You can download it here.

Organisation

USEF was founded by seven key players, active across the smart energy industry. Their goal: to accelerate the establishment of an integrated smart energy system which benefits all stakeholders, from energy companies to consumers. The foundation is no longer active, yet USEF’s work is still available for referencing.
